For families, there are three options – there is definitely the right one for you. Together, we will find the ideal accommodation for your well-deserved vacation.
Variant 1 - our double rooms
For up to 4 people - 30 m²
All our double rooms – whether with or without a balcony – can accommodate up to four people with extra beds. With 30 m², they are large enough for families and the most economical option of all.
It all depends on how you spend your vacation: Many families spend a lot of time out and about during the day and enjoy the evening in the restaurant or with a game together. If that's the case for you, this variant might be ideal for you. ☺️
Variant 2 - More Space in the Junior Suite Edelweiss
For 4, 5 and even 6 people, 36 - 40 m²
Our modern Edelweiss rooms with south-facing balcony are the perfect choice if you are looking for a bit more space and comfort. With spacious 36 to 40 m², it offers enough room for families who like it a bit more spacious. Here you can spread out and relax comfortably after a day full of experiences. ✨
The couches are equipped with full-size mattresses and a modern, high-quality sleep system.
Up to 4 people can fit and in the larger variants even 5 or 6 people.
The Edelweiss room is the perfect retreat when you need more space for yourself.
Variant 3 - Plenty of Space in the Appartement Torstein
For 2-6 Persons - 60 m²
Our Appartement Torstein with Balcony offers the most space at 60 m². The room combines classic Austrian style with modern comfort – perfect for those who want to enjoy a relaxed vacation amidst the Austrian mountains and coziness. ☀️⛰️
With two separate sleeping areas, this apartment offers more privacy and freedom - ideal for larger families. Whether it's cozy lingering or fun game nights with the family - plenty of space leads to many possibilities. Although you spend most of your vacation time in our beautiful mountain scenery, a spacious 'base camp' in the hotel greatly enhances your holiday, you can believe us. ☺️

Is there enough storage space in the family rooms for strollers and luggage?
Yes, absolutely. Especially the junior suites and apartments offer plenty of space for strollers, bags and toys without feeling cramped. This way, the room stays comfortable and tidy even when traveling as a family.
Do children really sleep comfortably on the extra beds?
Yes! The extra beds and sofa beds are designed exactly for this purpose. Children sleep very well on them. In the Edelweiss junior suites, the sofas are even equipped with full-quality mattresses — so there’s nothing missing for a good night’s sleep. We promise: kids sleep just as well as in a regular bed.
Are the rooms family-friendly?
Absolutely. The rooms are clearly laid out, cozy, and well thought out. On request, we’re happy to provide baby cots, kettles, or other small extras — just let us know.
Is a balcony really useful for families?
Definitely! Many families enjoy letting their children get some fresh air or ending the day relaxing on the balcony. Especially the south- and east-facing balconies are a real highlight — with wonderful views of the Filzmoos mountains, a small stream flowing past the hotel, and the beautiful hotel grounds.
Can we still use all hotel services when staying in an apartment?
Yes, of course! Even when staying in an apartment, you can enjoy all inclusive services of the Alpenhof — from dining and wellness facilities to family and children’s programs.
Why is a family holiday at the Alpenhof better than a classic family hotel?
At the Alpenhof, it’s less about constant animation and more about genuine relaxation for the whole family. No oversized hotel complexes, no compulsory all-day programs, and no “vacation from your children.” Families enjoy their holiday at their own pace and choose freely from a wide range of children’s activities. Many programs are designed for the whole family — such as rock climbing on real stone, where adults can join in or simply watch and capture the best memories.
