From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the ball will be rolling across the Atlantic: the FIFA World Cup takes place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. For the very first time, 48 teams will compete – and everyone wants to become World Champion. Here at the Alpenhof in Filzmoos, we’ll be right there with them… at least in spirit, in body, and of course with a cold beer in hand. ⚽

The best hiking season of the year happens to coincide every two years with a major football event – the last World Cup excluded, of course. :)
Why the best hiking season? By the end of June, the weather is already wonderfully warm, the views are simply breathtaking, and it’s not yet as hot as in the high summer months of July and August.

Here’s our suggested plan: enjoy your day in nature, whether hiking or exploring the beautiful area around Filzmoos. Our hiking program at the Wanderhotel Alpenhof Filzmoos will be running at full speed throughout the World Cup, meaning daily guided hiking tours. Afterwards, you can catch all the exciting football matches live in a few places at our hotel or even no football at all if that is what you want.

You can watch all the matches of the 2026 World Cup live here at the Alpenhof Filzmoos with us – and we really mean all of them! Whether on the big screen in our hotel cinema, in your room, on the terrace or in the Alpenhof Bar, you won’t miss a single moment. And all the while… pure holiday bliss!

In addition to our free-holiday-bet (more details below), there are small bets for everyone during each match. A little bet makes the whole experience much more exciting and entertaining. If you win, you’ll receive a shot, cocktail, juice or even a bottle of wine, depending on the odds. It’s really a lot of fun!

Let’s clear things up – some of you may already know this tradition.
Every two years, we place a fun bet together with you – and of course also this year! Once again, all winners of our World Cup bet will receive a free night at the Alpenhof in Filzmoos.
Every guest staying with us for at least one week between June 11 and July 19, 2026, automatically takes part in this special bet:
“Which team will become World Champion 2026?”
If you send us your guess or let us know when booking – and you’re right – you’ll win a free extra night here at the Alpenhof Filzmoos. ☺️
Here are the details:
Valid only for bookings made before June 11, 2026 (otherwise it wouldn’t be fair).
Your tip must also be submitted before the opening match on June 11, 2026.
If we don’t receive a tip from you by then, the “automatic” rule applies:
your home country will count as your tip. If your country doesn’t participate, we’ll set your tip to Austria. And yes, we’re really hoping Austria makes it! ☺️
The prize will be sent to you as a voucher. If it doesn’t arrive, please let us know – normally it should reach you by the end of July 2026.
The free night can be redeemed until the end of the summer season 2027. If not used, the voucher expires and no cash payout is possible.
