More Information About Paragliding

When is paragliding better – summer or winter?

Honestly: both have their own unique charm – it really depends on what kind of experience you’re looking for. In summer, you can enjoy breathtaking views of green alpine meadows, hiking trails, and the impressive mountain landscape. The pleasant temperatures and clear visibility make the flight especially relaxing. 🌿

In winter, the experience often feels magical: snow-covered mountains, sparkling slopes, and the peaceful winter scenery create a truly special atmosphere. Especially on sunny winter days, the Salzburg mountains reveal their most beautiful side. ❄️

Our tip: There’s no real “better” season – just a different experience. Whether in summer or winter, a tandem paragliding flight with Fly Tandem is something truly special at any time of year. 😊 So make the most of the moment and don’t wait for a “better” time.

No paragliding experience? No problem 🙂

You don’t need any previous experience for a tandem flight – just excitement and anticipation. The experienced pilots at Fly Tandem will guide you step by step through your (first) moments in the air. Everything is explained in a relaxed and easy way, so you can simply enjoy the breathtaking views of the Salzburg mountains.

During the flight itself, you’ll lift off after just a few steps – and then all that’s left to do is enjoy the experience.

We often hear people say: “That was much more relaxing than I expected!”

How high do we fly while paragliding?

Some experiences simply stay with you forever – and a paragliding flight among the Salzburg mountains is definitely one of them, we promise. 😊

Normally, during a tandem paragliding flight, you’ll fly between 500 and 1,500 meters in altitude. At our main flying mountain, the Bischling, there are almost 1,000 meters between the takeoff and landing site. In most cases, you’ll even gain additional altitude at the beginning, meaning you’ll have quite a few meters beneath you during the flight.

Our tip: Look forward to it – and try not to be too nervous. Once you’re in the air, take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy exploring the landscape below. Maybe you’ll even spot a few beautiful places to visit. As time goes on, the nervousness fades and you’ll be able to enjoy the feeling of flying even more.

What happens in bad weather? 🌦️

Safety always comes first. Since a tandem paragliding flight depends heavily on weather conditions, everything is checked in advance to make sure it’s safe to fly. If the flight is not possible due to the weather, a new date will easily be arranged together with Fly Tandem.

Of course, you can also book spontaneously once you arrive – whatever suits you best. 😊

How does payment work for a tandem flight? 💳

Very simple: No deposit is required for your tandem paragliding flight. Payment is made conveniently directly on site with Fly Tandem. This way, you stay flexible and can enjoy your holiday completely stress-free. 😊

Not sure how the booking works?

No problem – we’re happy to help 😊
That’s exactly what we’re here for. If you have any questions or feel unsure, we’ll gladly assist you and help with the booking process.

We can either help you directly on site, or you can simply send us a message.

What happens after the tandem flight?

After landing, take a deep breath and enjoy the feeling of having dared to try this experience – not everyone does, so congratulations by the way 😊

Next, a few final things will be taken care of – such as sharing your photos, videos, and other memories – and just like that, this unique experience is complete.

Afterwards, the choice is yours – maybe it’s time to relax? After a paragliding flight over the Salzburg mountains, putting your feet up and reflecting on the experience in our wellness area sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it?
